Do you sense any tenderness or a bump in the palm at the base of your affected finger? Trigger finger is a condition in which one of your fingers gets stuck in a bent position and it may straighten with a snap. This condition occurs when inflammation narrows the space within the sheath surrounding the tendon in the affected finger. Surgery may be the best option if you have yet to find relief from other nonsurgical methods. During surgery, a small incision will be made at the base of the affected finger and a surgeon can repair the section of the tendon sheath.
